It is very hard to catorgorise Koi into specific varieties as new names and breeds are always coming along for competitions and showing. But generally they fit into one of the classifications below.

These Kohaku are generally overlooked for the more brightly coloured Koi , and often take a while for the hobbyist to appreciate the quality and colours of this beautiful fish. The Kohaku is over 200 years old and now boasts two individual lines, both displaying impressive colour definition which extends form the head to the tail.
