Butomus Umbellatus - Flowering Rush


British Native form of Butomus umbellatus with low growing 3 sided rush leaves and pink flowers in umbels on tall stems - The only member of the rush family to bear a flower

Suitable for medium to large ponds, can be planted in water upto 60cm deep

Growing Habit - Tall emergent (60cm - 90cm)

Divide Butomus umbellatus on a regular basis to encourage flowering. Butomus species will not flower in a congested basket but prefer muddy and nutrient high conditions. Butomus umbellatus are loved by hoverflies and butterflies when in flower in later summer

This plant comes to you in a 1 litre pond pot and is ready to be put straight into your pond or bog garden.
